These eggs are quick, easy, and a lot of fun to make. Paper Mache eggs are readily found in craft shops all over. Make a few each week-end and you will have amassed quite a collection by Easter!
*****
* Paper mache eggs (I found these at Hobby Lobby)
* Mod Podge
* Small printed graphics; I found mine at The Graphics Fairy
I used the bow and the bee of this one and the rabbit in this one.
* small paint brush
* Paint recipe for each color you want to use
I used Glidden Pure White and Martha Stewart Zinc. I also left some of them natural.
*****
First you will give your eggs a coat of paint on both front and back. If you are using a light color, you will probably want to give them two coats. Let them dry and sand them lightly to add a little distressing.
*****
Size your graphic to fit your egg and cut it out close to the image.
*****
Apply Mod Podge to printed side of graphic.
*****
Place image, Mod Podge side down, on painted egg and let dry completely, about three to four hours.
*****
After it has dried, wet the image and GENTLY roll away the paper from the graphic. This may take a couple of tries to remove all the paper. Please be patient with this step so that you wont remove the image with the paper.
*****
Let dry and your egg will be complete. You may add another coat of Mod Podge to the surface of the egg for protection if you want to.
*****
I made a nest of jute twine and placed a little flower made of four book page flower petals in the center to rest the egg in. Oops… looks like I transfered the image backwards! I will have to try again!!!
*****
I left this egg plain and printed an image on card stock, cut it out, and glued it to the center of the egg. I will embellish it with a little stone or bead in the center of the bow later on.
My blogging schedule will be a little different this week. One of my sons will be getting married this week end, so I will only post one more blog later this week and will probably only twice next week.
I hope you have a super week!!!
XOXO,
Kristie

Kristie I just discovered your website a few weeks ago and I think you are the most creative blogger. I am so impressed with your talent and I wanted to let you know that I attempted the paper rose, blogged about it and gave your talent all the credit – http://www.whitecottagechic.blogspot.com/2012/03/paper-rose.html#comment-form
I can hardly wait to see what you do next – Patricia

I am sooo going to try this. I saw some factory made eggs last week at a boutique in my town and they were $10 each. WHAT? LOVE THIS IDEA!

I love how this transfer technique looks and have yet to try it. You’re inspiring me, though. These look small enough to manage
